Drink coffee to have a better nap
Studies have shown that drinking coffee right before a nap has proven to make people more alert and perform better when they wake up. How is this possible? Well, a 20-minute nap ends just as the caffeine kicks in and eliminates a molecule in the brain called adenosine, which in turn causes alertness. The higher the adenosine levels in our brain, the more tired we become, and when we take naps that adenosine clear out. But more importantly, when you combine that nap with caffeine which is an adenosine blocker, it decreases the adenosine effects even more and you feel much more rested and alert when you wake up.
Exercise when you’re tired
Regularly exercising is essential to stay healthy. I can almost bet that most of us prefer a morning workout because we feel that’s the time we’re more willing to exercise. A late evening exercise is probably one that we aim to avoid because it’s near the end of the day and most likely we’re exhausted and tired. Yet interestingly, exercising when we are tired is a great idea, it will get you re-energized when you feel drained and tired. Additionally, studies show that fatigue, bad mood and depression improve after a good 30-minute workout session.
Drink a hot beverage to cool off
Did you know that drinking a hot coffee or tea can actually help you cool off faster than drinking a cold one? When you drink a hot beverage, your body senses the change in temperature and increases your sweat production. Hence, as the sweat evaporates from your skin, you cool off naturally.
Drink water when you’re bloated
Drinking water is probably the last thing you think off when you feel bloated. But drinking water has proven to reduce the symptoms of bloating because it increases the movement in your stomach and intestines. When you’re dehydrated your body holds on to the little water it does have and causes you to puff up. So now you know, the next time you feel bloated try drinking a glass of water to alleviate the symptoms.
For healthy teeth, don’t brush after eating
Brushing your teeth immediately after every meal may not be the best thing to do. In fact, brushing your teeth particularly after eating acidic foods such as citrus fruits, sports drinks, tomatoes, and sodas can soften your tooth enamel and destroy the layer underneath. Instead, its recommended to wait 30 to 60 minutes after you have eaten to brush your teeth.
